Quatro de Fevereiro International Airport

Quatro de Fevereiro International Airport (LAD) is Angola's primary
international gateway, located approximately 4 kilometers from Luanda's city
center. As the busiest airport in the country, it serves as the main hub for
TAAG Angola
Airlines and connects Angola to major African, European, and South American
destinations.
Notable airlines operating at LAD include
Air France,
TAP Air Portugal,
Lufthansa, and
Ethiopian
Airlines, providing options for international travelers, while several
regional and domestic carriers link to other parts of Angola and nearby African
nations.
The airport offers a range of passenger facilities, including currency exchange,
ATMs, restaurants, duty-free shops, and lounges. Basic amenities such as Wi-Fi
access, medical assistance, and car rental services are also available. Though
the airport is relatively modest compared to other major African hubs, ongoing
upgrades are aimed at improving passenger experience and capacity.
Public transportation options from the airport to Luanda include taxis and
private shuttle services. Taxis are available outside the arrivals area, though
it’s advisable to negotiate fares in advance as metered services are uncommon.
Additionally, ride-hailing apps are growing in popularity, providing another
convenient means of transport for arriving passengers. The airport’s location
near the city center also makes it accessible for those using private vehicles.
