Deutsche Lufthansa AG, commonly known as Lufthansa (sometimes also as Lufthansa
German Airlines), is a German airline and also the largest airline in Europe in
term of fleet size.

As of December 2024, the Lufthansa Group airlines, through hubs in Brussels, Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna, and Zurich, as well as numerous direct connections, fly passengers to over 260 destinations in nearly 100 countries.

Lufthansa's registered office and corporate headquarters are in Cologne. The
main operations base, called Lufthansa Aviation Center (LAC), is located at
Lufthansa's primary traffic hub at
Frankfurt Airport and its secondary hub is at
Munich Airport.
Lufthansa CityLine is a wholly owned subsidiary of Lufthansa and it operates a
dense domestic and European network as a member of Lufthansa Regional.

Lufthansa is one of the five founding members of the
Star Alliance, the
world's largest airline alliance, formed in 1997. Miles & More is an airline
loyalty program run by Deutsche Lufthansa. Because Lufthansa is a member of
Star Alliance, miles can be
earned through all alliance members like
United Airlines,
Air Canada,
Air China, and
Singapore Airlines,
as well as Lufthansa subsidiaries, including
Eurowings and Swiss
International Air Lines.
