Lufthansa's registered office and corporate headquarters are in Cologne. The main operations base, called Lufthansa Aviation Center (LAC), is located at Lufthansa's primary traffic hub at Frankfurt Airport and its secondary hub is at Munich Airport.

Lufthansa CityLine is a wholly owned subsidiary of Lufthansa and it operates a dense domestic and European network as a member of Lufthansa Regional.

Lufthansa is one of the five founding members of the Star Alliance, the world's largest airline alliance, formed in 1997. Miles & More is an airline loyalty program run by Deutsche Lufthansa. Because Lufthansa is a member of Star Alliance, miles can be earned through all alliance members like United Airlines, Air Canada, Air China, and Singapore Airlines, as well as Lufthansa subsidiaries, including Eurowings and Swiss International Air Lines.
