Also known as "Sky City", Acoma Pueblo is a American Indian site built on top of a 367-foot (112 m) sandstone mesa. It is regarded as the oldest continuously inhabited community in the United States.

Three villages make up Acoma Pueblo: Sky City (Old Acoma), Acomita, and McCartys. The Acoma Pueblo tribe is a federally recognized tribal entity. The historical land of Acoma Pueblo totaled roughly 5,000,000 acres (2,000,000 ha). Only 10% of this land remains in the hands of the community within the Acoma Indian Reservation.

Getting There

The Acoma Pueblo, also known as "Sky City," is located about 60 miles west of Albuquerque, New Mexico. As it is a remote location, public transportation options are limited. The best way to get there would be by car or by booking a guided tour.

However, if you would still like to explore public transportation options, you can take the train from Albuquerque to Gallup and then take a shuttle service to the pueblo. Alternatively, you can take a bus from Albuquerque to Grants and then take a taxi or ride-sharing service to the pueblo. Keep in mind that these options may require multiple transfers and may take several hours.
