Sacred Heart Catholic Church
Sacred Heart is the oldest Catholic church, in the city of Tampa. Dedicated on
January 15, 1905, the mostly Romanesque building includes a 135 foot dome, 17
stained glass windows, solid oak pews and doors, porcelain tiles, and a Carrara
marble altar.

Getting There
To get to Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 509 N. Florida Avenue, you can take
I-275 to exit 45A for Downtown West. Then, turn left onto N. Florida Avenue, and
continue for about 0.5 miles. The church will be on your right.
Alternatively, you can take the TECO Line Streetcar from Channelside or Ybor
City and get off at the Tampa City Hall Station, which is a short walk from the
church.
