Miami International Airport

Miami International Airport (IATA: MIA, ICAO: KMIA, FAA LID: MIA), also known as MIA and historically as Wilcox Field, is the primary airport serving the Miami area. The airport is in an unincorporated area in Miami-Dade County, Florida, 8 miles (13 km) northwest of Downtown Miami, in metropolitan Miami, between the cities of Miami, Hialeah, Doral, Miami Springs, the village of Virginia Gardens, and the unincorporated Fontainebleau neighborhood.

The airport is a hub for American Airlines and Miami serves as a gateway to Latin America and the Caribbean.

The airport has three terminals: North, Central, and South. These terminals are connected by the MIA Mover, an automated people mover system. The airport offers a wide range of facilities including shops, restaurants, lounges, and duty-free stores.

Public transport options include the Miami-Dade Transit Bus system, which has several routes that stop at the airport. The Miami Central Station, which is located at the airport, is also served by the Miami Metrorail, a rapid transit system that connects Miami-Dade County with Broward County to the north.

In terms of airlines, Miami International Airport is served by a number of major domestic and international airlines, including American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, British Airways, Lufthansa, and Emirates, among others.
