African-American Research Library
The African-American Research Library and Cultural Center is a general-service
library, as well as a research facility and cultural center containing more than
75,000 books and related materials that focus on the experiences of people of
African descent.

Getting There
Here are some ways to get there:
By car: If you are coming from downtown Fort Lauderdale, take I-95 North to Exit
33B for West Sunrise Boulevard. Stay on Sunrise Boulevard for about 2 miles and
turn right onto NW 27th Avenue. The library will be on your left.
By bus: You can take the Broward County Transit bus #36 or #40 to the
African-American Research Library. Bus #36 runs between the Fort Lauderdale
Tri-Rail Station and the Galt Ocean Mile via Sunrise Boulevard, while bus #40
runs between the Broward Central Terminal and the Coconut Creek Promenade via
Sample Road. Both buses stop at NW 27th Avenue, right in front of the library.
By train: The nearest train station to the African-American Research Library is
the Fort Lauderdale Tri-Rail Station, which is about 5 miles away. You can take
the Broward County Transit bus #36 from the Tri-Rail Station to the library.
