LIAT (1974) Ltd, originally founded as Leeward Islands Air Transport, was established on October 16, 1956. Based near V. C. Bird International Airport in Antigua, the airline focuses on frequent inter-island flights across 17 Caribbean destinations.

Its main operations center is V. C. Bird International Airport in Antigua and Barbuda, with additional bases at Grantley Adams International Airport in Barbados and Piarco International Airport in Trinidad and Tobago. The network connects numerous Caribbean nations, including Anguilla, Antigua, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Guyana, Martinique, Puerto Rico, St. Croix, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, St. Thomas, St. Vincent, Tortola, and Trinidad.
