Passengers are not required to have a visa or pay the Reciprocity Fee in Argentina if they are continuing their trip to another country within twelve (12) hours of arrival, holding an outgoing boarding pass and have been declared as such by the airline.

Transit visa of Argentina can be apply for passing through the country to other destination, from 12 hours stay and up to 10 days.

Passengers in transit in Argentina will differ here THREE (3) situations:

1. Passengers in transit: those entering the Argentine territory with the only purpose of going, through its territory to another State and have Argentina consular visa in that nature, with permission to stay in the country for a period of up to TEN (10) continuous days.

The NATIONAL DIRECTION OF MIGRATION may extend this period for once and for the same term when there are reasonable grounds for doing so.

2. Passengers continuing journey: those entering the country with the intention of continuing journey to another, leaving the country within TWELVE (12) hours of their arrival, submitting their confirmed departure ticket and that have been declared as such by the carrier.

The said passengers will not be required consular visa. The period of staying may be extended when there are reasonable grounds for doing so.

The reporting enterprise will be responsible for the exit from the country of these people. Passengers continuing travel that enter and must leave from the same place of their arrival, must remain within the airport, station or place of entry or exit; during the time that requires the supplying, maintenance or change of transport.

In the event of the preceding paragraph, the NATIONAL DIRECTION OF MIGRATION, at the request of the carrier and under his exclusive responsibility, may authorize the temporary removal of the passenger from the airport, station or place of entry or exit, when reasons of unforeseeable circumstances or force majeure, could delay his exit more than TWELVE (12) hours.

The NATIONAL DIRECTION OF MIGRATION may retain the personal documents of the passenger, in which case it will provide him with a certificate containing his name and surname, type and number of document and the duration of his stay in the country.

The documentation will be returned to its owner at the time of checking his real exit of the Argentine territory.

When the foreigner on continuing travel do not exit of the Argentine territory within appropriate time, the NATIONAL DIRECTION OF MIGRATION will issue an act that in its content, scope and consequences; will be equivalent to its rejection at the border, leaving the renewal on charge of the company to which belong the means of transport with which the foreigner arrived at the country.

3. Passengers arriving in the country to join as crew members or team members of a means of transport with Argentine or foreign flag: those who enter the country for that purpose shall have a period of stay of up to TEN (10) days, exceptionally renewable for another similar period .
