Originally called Fort Island Battery, Fort Mifflin was commissioned in 1771. During the American Revolutionary War, the fort was a centerpiece of the British conquest of Philadelphia.

Getting There

To get to Fort Mifflin by public transportation, you can take the SEPTA route 37 bus to the Fort Mifflin stop. The bus runs every day and stops right in front of the fort. You can also take the SEPTA Regional Rail to the Eastwick station, and then take a taxi or ride-sharing service to the fort, which is located about 2 miles away.
