Columbus is the capital and largest city of the U.S. state of Ohio. It is the 15th largest city in the United States, with a population of 850,106 (2015 estimate).

It is Ohio's third largest metropolitan area, behind Cleveland and Cincinnati.

Columbus is the county seat of Franklin County. The city proper has also expanded and annexed portions of adjoining Delaware County and Fairfield County.

Getting There

The Ohio State Capitol, also known as the Ohio Statehouse, is located in Columbus, Ohio, and can be reached by public transportation.

The Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) provides bus service throughout the city, including several routes that stop near the Statehouse. The closest bus stop to the Statehouse is located on High Street between State Street and Broad Street, which is served by several COTA bus routes, including lines 1, 2, 2L, 10, and more. Additionally, the free CBUS circulator bus stops at the intersection of High Street and State Street, just a short walk from the Statehouse.

There are also several bike-share programs, such as CoGo and Lime, available in Columbus, making it easy to get to the Statehouse on two wheels.
