James A. Garfield Memorial
President and Mrs. Garfield are entombed in the lower level crypt, their coffins
placed side by side and visible to cemetery visitors.
Construction was finished in May, 1890.
The ornate interior features a large marble statue, stained glass, bas relief,
and various historical relics from Garfield's life and presidency. The monument
also serves as a scenic observation deck and picnic area.

The James A. Garfield Memorial is located in Lake View Cemetery in Cleveland,
Ohio. The cemetery is accessible by public transportation via the RTA Blue and
Green lines. Visitors can take the Blue Line to the Cedar-University station or
the Green Line to the Coventry station, both of which are a short distance from
the cemetery. From there, visitors can take a bus or walk to the James A.
Garfield Memorial. The cemetery is also easily accessible by car or taxi.
