Nevada State Capitol

Constructed between 1869 and 1871, the Nevada State Capitol served all three branches of the state government for over 50 years. Today, the Capitol continues to serve the Governor, and contains historical exhibits on the second floor.

The Nevada Legislature met here until 1971, when it moved to its new Legislative Building just south of the Capitol.

The Supreme Court met here until 1937, when it moved into an adjacent building.

Getting There

There is no Nevada State Capitol as Nevada does not have a capital city. The Nevada State Legislature meets in the Nevada State Capitol Building in Carson City, which is also the state's administrative and executive hub. To get there by public transport, you can take the Amtrak California Zephyr train or a bus operated by Greyhound or Flixbus, which stops at the Carson City Greyhound Station. From there, you can take a taxi, ride-hailing service or a local bus to reach the Capitol Building, which is about 2 miles away from the station.
