Penobscot Marine Museum
Founded in 1936, the Penobscot Marine Museum is Maine's oldest maritime museum
and is designed to preserve and educate people regarding Maine's and Searsport's
rich and unique maritime and shipbuilding history.
Designed as a unique 19th century seafaring village, the Penobscot Marine Museum
encompasses thirteen historic and modern buildings, houses a modern exhibit
gallery features annual shows and is home to a regionally important library and
archives focused on maritime history.

Getting There
While there is no public transportation directly to the museum, visitors can
take the Concord Coach Lines bus to the Belfast, Maine stop and then take a taxi
or ride-sharing service to the museum. Alternatively, visitors can rent a car
