Kelimutu Volcano

respectively. The colors of these lakes can change periodically, adding to their

lakes, often caused by subaqueous fumaroles. In the past, some visitors have
even witnessed minor eruptions from the volcano. With an elevation of 1639
meters and a compound summit spanning 2 kilometers, Kelimutu Volcano offers

Geologists categorize Kelimutu Volcano as a complex volcano, situated at
coordinates 8.75 S, 121.83 E near the equator.

serves as the nearest airport to Kelimutu Volcano. Located in Ende on Flores
Island, approximately 50 kilometers (31 miles) away, Ende Airport provides
access to Kelimutu National Park, where visitors can witness the famous tri-colored
volcanic crater lakes. Travelers can reach the national park from the airport by
road, immersing themselves in the captivating natural beauty of Kelimutu and its
surroundings.
