The airport is owned and operated by the City of Morgantown and serves as a general aviation facility. It is located approximately three miles north of the central business district of Morgantown, a city in northern West Virginia that is home to West Virginia University.

The airport has one runway, designated 18/36, which is 5,001 feet long and 100 feet wide.
