It is located four nautical miles (7 km) east of the central business district of Wenatchee, a city in Chelan County. The airport is named after Clyde Pangborn, who was the first pilot to fly non-stop across the Pacific Ocean from Japan to Washington in 1931.

Pangborn Memorial Airport is served by one commercial airline, Alaska Airlines, which operates flights to and from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. The airport also serves as a general aviation airport and hosts an airshow every two years.
