Tioman Airport
Tioman Airport (IATA: TOD, ICAO: WMBT), also known as Pulau Tioman Airport,
serves Tioman Island (Pulau Tioman) on the east coast of Malaysia.
The airport is situated adjacent to Kampung Tekek, the capital village of Pulau
Tioman, which stretches along a 3 km coastal area in the central-western part of
the island. Kampung Tekek, essentially a town, boasts urban infrastructure such
as retail shops, banks, highways, and a marina and jetty complex.
Featuring a single tarmac surface runway aligned 02/20, with a length of 3255
feet (992 meters) and an elevation of 13 feet (4 meters) above sea level, the
airport is under the management and control of Malaysia Airports Sdn Bhd.
Berjaya Air previously offered scheduled flights directly from
Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (Subang Airport)
to Tioman Airport but has since suspended the service.
The airport serves as the primary gateway for tourism, offering access to one of
the most stunning and serene beaches on the east coast of Malaysia.
