Young children traveling without a parent or legal guardian are considered to be Unaccompanied Minor Services, Delta Air Lines does offer unaccompanied minor services on all its flights unless stated otherwise.

Delta Air Lines Children Flying Alone Policy

• Unaccompanied service is required for all children 5 -14 years old when not traveling in the same compartment with an adult at least 18 years old or the child's parent/legal guardian.

• Children ages 5 - 7 years can fly on nonstop flights only.

• Children ages 8 - 14 years can fly on nonstop or connecting flights, but may only connect to other Delta, Delta Connection (excluding AA Eagle), KLM, and Air France flight.

• Children 15 - 17 are not required to have unaccompanied service but Delta will provide it when requested.

• An unaccompanied child can not be booked on the last connecting flight of the evening. This is to prevent the need for an overnight stay in a hotel. Contact Reservation Sales before you book here at delta.com if you have questions about connecting flights.

• Unaccompanied minors will not be permitted on Red Eye flights, that is, those departing between 9:00 pm and 5:00 am. Exceptions:

- Flights to or from Alaska or Hawaii

- International flight

- Domestic short haul flights (2 hours or less, non stop)

- Markets with only one connection and it is the last flight of the day

A $150 fee, to be paid at check-in, is due for one way travel. Only one $150 fee will be charged for up to four children traveling together.

All airlines reserve the right to request documented proof of age of any child.

If booking online, you must contact Reservation Sales (1-800-221-1212) to notify Delta that you have purchased a ticket for a child that will be traveling alone and provide the flight number, date of travel, and name of the traveling child. You must also provide the name, address, and telephone number of the person bringing your child to the airport as well as the person who will meet your child at the final destination.
