British Airways Lost & Found

If you've misplaced an item during your journey with British Airways, the process to retrieve it depends on where the item was lost:

Onboard the Aircraft

Items left on a British Airways flight are handed over to the lost property team at the arrival airport. To locate your item:

Contact the Arrival Airport's Lost Property Office: Each airport manages its own lost property. You can find contact details for various airports on British Airways' Lost Property Contacts page.

Within the Airport (including lounges, security checkpoints, and other areas):

Items found within the airport premises are typically managed by the airport's lost property services.

London Heathrow Airport: Lost property is handled by Smarte Carte UK Ltd. You can search for your items using their online database. Items are stored for three months from the date they are found.

London Gatwick Airport: For items left in the British Airways lounge, onboard an aircraft, or elsewhere in the airport, contact the Excess Baggage Company by phone at 01293 223457 or submit an enquiry form with details such as your name, date of travel, flight number, seat number (if applicable), item description, and contact telephone number. Allow 24 hours for a response. You can collect items from their Gatwick South terminal depot or opt for courier delivery, noting that charges apply.

Other Airports: For items lost at other airports, refer to the specific airport's lost property contact information available in British Airways' Global Lost Property Contacts document.

Additional Tips

Act Promptly: Report lost items as soon as possible to increase the chances of recovery.

Provide Detailed Information: When reporting a lost item, include comprehensive details such as the date and location of loss, a thorough description of the item, and your contact information.

Be Aware of Potential Fees: Some airports or handling agents may charge administrative or storage fees for reclaimed items, as well as postage charges if you request the item to be sent to you.
