Policy
Young children traveling without a parent or legal guardian are considered to be
Unaccompanied Minors. Like most airlines, Air New Zealand provide a service to
assist these children from their point of departure to their final destination.

The service is mandatory for children ages 5-11 traveling without an adult
who is at least 16 years old. Children under 5 years of age are not allowed to
travel unless accompanied by an adult who is at least 15 years old. All airlines
reserve the right to request documented proof of age of any child.
The unaccompanied minor will not be accepted for travel unless all the
applicable areas in the form are completed and confirmed by an Air New Zealand
staff member or agent.
If you are allowing your child to fly alone as an unaccompanied minor, be
sure to take every necessary precaution to ensure his or her safety.
Please contact Air New Zealand directly for information regarding bookings
procedure and fees.
