Fiji Airways offers an Unaccompanied Minor service for children travelling
without a parent or legal guardian on eligible flights. The programme provides
supervision from check-in until the child is handed to the authorised receiving
adult at the destination. The service follows procedures established to ensure
the child's safety throughout the journey.
Age Requirements
Children between 5 and 11 years travelling alone are required to use the
Unaccompanied Minor service. Children under 5 years are not accepted for travel
unless accompanied by a responsible person meeting the airline's requirements.
Passengers aged 12 to 15 years may request the service when additional
supervision is preferred.
Booking Arrangements
Reservations for unaccompanied minors must be made before departure. Parents or
guardians are required to complete the necessary forms, provide identification,
supply contact details for the receiving adult, and confirm all travel
documentation before the flight.
Airport Procedures
The accompanying adult must remain at the departure airport until the aircraft
has departed. Upon arrival, the child is released only to the nominated adult
after identity verification has been completed by airport staff.
During the Journey
Cabin crew supervise the child throughout the flight, assist with boarding and
disembarkation, and coordinate transfers where approved itineraries include
connecting services. Meals and assistance appropriate to the child's journey are
provided according to the flight schedule.
Passengers travelling as unaccompanied minors must carry valid passports, visas,
consent documentation where required, and any additional entry documents
required by the destination country. Service charges apply according to the
itinerary and fare conditions.
