Air Cairo provides an Unaccompanied Minor (UM) service for eligible children
travelling without a parent or legal guardian, subject to the airline's
operational policies and the regulations of the departure, transit, and
destination countries.
Eligibility
Children within the airline's specified age range may travel using the
Unaccompanied Minor service. The applicable age requirements are determined by
Air Cairo's current travel policy and may differ depending on the route.
Booking Arrangements
Requests for unaccompanied minor travel should be made before departure to allow
sufficient time for approval and operational planning. Required documentation
must be completed by the parent or legal guardian at the departure airport.
Airport Procedures
The accompanying adult must remain at the airport until the aircraft has
departed. Airline staff supervise the child throughout departure formalities,
boarding, and handover to cabin crew.
During the Flight
Cabin crew monitor the child's welfare during the journey, assist with meals
where applicable, and provide support throughout the flight until arrival.
Arrival Procedures
Upon arrival, the child is escorted from the aircraft by authorised airline or
ground handling personnel. Release is made only to the individual named on the
travel documentation after identity verification has been completed.
Documentation
Parents or guardians must provide valid identification, emergency contact
details, travel consent documentation where required, and all immigration or
visa documents necessary for the child's journey.
Service Limitations
The Unaccompanied Minor service may not be available on every route, charter
flight, connecting itinerary, or during operational disruptions. Advance
confirmation from Air Cairo is required before finalising travel arrangements.
