Bearskin Airlines Unaccompanied Minors Policy
Children aged 5-11 may travel alone on flights operated by Bearskin Airlines but it is mandatory to use the unaccompanied minor (UM) services, which include being escorted by customer service agents and/or flight crew.
The UM service must be requested at the same time the child's flight is
booked by the parent/guardian. It is possible to book an unaccompanied minor
online, but it is extremely important that you call Bearskin to add pick-up and
drop-off contact information to the reservation, to pay the fee, and to speak
with an agent who will make sure your booking is correct and complete.
If unable to get the required information, Bearskin Airlines cannot allow the
child to fly. You will be given details about Bearskin Airlines special services
and what procedures are involved when a child is unaccompanied.
The cost of UM service is an additional $75 each way. The charge must be paid
when you book the flight with UM service.
Please note that Bearskin Airlines take custody of your child at flight
departure. Bearskin Airlines require that the person who delivers the child to
the airport remain with them at the airport until the flight is boarded and up
to 10 minutes AFTER the flight has departed.
At airports that have security hold rooms, the parent/guardian will be given
authority by the Bearskin counter to escort the Unaccompanied Minor through the
screening process and remain with them in the secure area until the flight has
departed.
Restrictions
Your child will not be booked on the last flight of the day and connections to
flights operated by other airlines are not allowed.
