Bearskin Airlines Baggage Allowance

Passengers traveling with Bearskin Airlines are welcome to bring:

Carry-On & Carry-Out Baggage

Bearskin Airlines will permit a maximum of 1 piece carry-on to a maximum weight of 13 lbs. Eligible pieces include soft sided briefcase & laptop computers. Flight crew may request that you remove laptop computer from carrying case if deemed to be too large. Items permitted as carry-on but not considered part of the allowance include personal cameras, coats, purses (10" x 12" x 8" or less), urns, canes, containers carrying life sustaining items and other similar items.

One wheelchair, baby stroller, bassinet, walker or car seat will be accepted free of charge and will not be considered part of the 'free checked baggage allowance.' Items deemed by airport agent to be too large for carry-on may be permitted as carry-out.

Carry-out items must be weighed & tagged at time of check-in. Carry-out items form part of the 'free checked baggage allowance.' A maximum of 2 pieces will be permitted as Carry-on & Carry-out combined.

Checked Baggage

Bearskin Airlines will allow each customer a 'free checked baggage allowance' to be carried in the baggage compartment of the aircraft at no charge. This 'free checked baggage' must not exceed 47 lbs. If you exceed this limit, you will have to pay an additional amount at the airport prior to travel. Individual pieces of checked baggage weighing more than 70 lbs. will not be accepted as checked baggage.

Sports Equipment

Fishing equipment, golf clubs and other sporting equipment must be fully enclosed in a hard shell container specifically designed for shipping. If otherwise packaged, the item(s) will only be accepted with a limited release tag (to be signed at check-in), releasing Bearskin Airlines of liability.

Excess Baggage Fees

When traveling on Bearskin Airlines the size and weight of bags you may check is limited by the free baggage allowance. If you exceed this free allowance, you will be charged an excess baggage fee. Excess baggage acceptance is subject to space availability.

Interline Baggage Rules for Travel within Canada/US on Partner Airlines

Bearskin partners (interlines) with Air Canada to offer the convenience of a single reservation.

If your ticket is not an interline ticket: Bearskin Airlines normal baggage allowance will apply.

If your ticket includes flights operated by our partner airlines:

• If the first flight segment on your ticket is operated by Air Canada (AC)* the Air Canada checked baggage guidelines, allowances and fees will apply for that flight and all other flights in your itinerary. Please be sure to familiarize yourself with the AC baggage policies, allowances and fees. *(Air Canada Rouge, as well as Air Canada Express flights operated by Jazz, Sky Regional, Air Georgian and Exploits Valley Air)

• If the first flight on your ticket is operated by Bearskin Airlines, the Bearskin Airlines checked baggage guidelines, allowances and fees will apply for that flight and all other flights on your ticket.

This policy is required due to the size of aircraft Bearskin Airlines operate as well as limits imposed by Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA). Please confirm your allowance before your trip to avoid flight delays and excess baggage fees.
