Young children traveling without a parent or legal guardian are considered to be Unaccompanied Minors. Like most airlines, Austrian Airlines provide a service to assist these children from their point of departure to their final destination.

The service is mandatory for children between ages 5 and 11 traveling without an adult. Youth between 12 and 18 years on parents' special request.

Children under 5 years of age are not allowed to travel unless accompanied by an adult. All airlines reserve the right to request documented proof of age of any child.

Please observe, that the accompanying person is required to remain at the airport until the child's flight has actually taken off. Call Austrian Airlines Reservation and Information Hotline as stated below.

Please note: It is not possible to book a flight for children travelling alone online.

The price for children (between 2 and 12 years of age) is 75% of the price for an adult. Other percentage rates may be applied to special offers. Contact Austrian Airlines for information regarding fees on Unaccompanied Minors.
